It was developed in the 1920s as a joint venture of the Clark company and a manufacturing group called Yale Towne. It is a must-have in every workplace that deals with large orders. These trucks have many variations and come equipped to handle various loads. Most variants are able to handle maneuvering with loads that range from one ton to an astounding five tons. The bigger versions can move loads that weigh fifty tons. These are usually used to carry shipping containers and construction material.
A forklift that is of medium size weighs as much as the common dump truck and can cause an equal amount of damage.
Most supervisors or managers take this machinery lightly. They should take a zero-tolerance stance when it comes to heavy machinery. If forklifts are operated in a callous manner, the authorities should be informed.
This is a great way for them to explain and implement proper work safety rules. In order to know and understand these rules, a forklift training program needs to be implemented. Forklift Training and Fatalities Many workplace fatalities have been attributed to improper use of forklifts. Most of the fatalities were pedestrians who just happened to be in the way. A significant of deaths involved forklift operators who jumped out of the machine as it tipped over.
